Taylor Stitch Pays Homage to Big Sur With Handsome New Merino Crewneck

We've waxed poetic on the virtues of merino wool before—it regulates temperature for all-seasons comfort, it wicks moisture, it resists odors, and it’s surprisingly sturdy given its ultra-soft texture. And no one makes better use of it than Taylor Stitch.

The S.F.-based apparel artisans have used to fashion all kinds of essential items of menswear, and their latest effort, dubbed the Ventana Sweater, is a great addition to the list.

It's named after the Ventana Wilderness, a spot which "offers some of Big Sur’s most striking scenery: steep ridges, stunning waterfalls, and a notched peak which—according to legend—was once connected by a stone bridge to form a natural 'window,' or ventana in Spanish," Taylor Stitch recounts.

And like much of Big Sur, "the area is as treacherous as it is beautiful, the brand notes, so we built its namesake to serve as a versatile companion that won’t let the occasional rough patch keep it from reaching the summit."

The Ventana, finished in the perfect shade of navy blue, features subtle horizontal cable detailing, a trim silhouette, ribbing at the cuffs and hem, and a sturdy collar. Layer it up or let it ride solo—either way, your guaranteed a stylish excursion.
