Two of our favorite Californian brands have teamed up on a collection of essential, affordable suede sneakers that are about to become a permanent part of our wardrobe. The Custom 12/64 Huntington Middle is an exclusive collaboration between Taylor Stitch and SeaVees, both masters at crafting timeless pieces that you'll wear for years without leaving a gaping hole in your bank account.
SeaVees, established in 1964, has been wowing us every season with perfect kicks referencing moments in classically cool Californian style, while Taylor Stitch serves up everything from beautiful suits to leather jackets that Steve McQueen would kill for.
The new collab is based on one of our favorite SeaVees styles, the 12/64 Huntington Middle, a super-stylish cross between a hightop and a chukka boot. The name refers to the 1964 U.S. Surfboard Championships in Huntington Beach, CA, established to “preserve the sport of surfing and build athletes instead of bums.”
Taylor Stitch has customized it in suede with exclusive color including Elmwood, a sort of faded fawn/olive green, Sable, a rich saddle brown, classic Navy, and Greyboard, the perfect shade of grey (natch) that pair perfectly with anything from simple shorts to a tweed jacket, taking you from the rest of summer well into fall. These are one of Taylor Stitch's "small batch" creations, and at $108, they won't last long – kind of like summer itself....
