A new pair of footwear is about to hit the market at large and we stand fully behind it--the club shoe. It's like a ridged tux slipper but with more comfort, versatility and durability. The man behind this movement is David Zimmerman, founder of a small and secretive private club in southern California called Matador Alcove. With the help of the entire club (membership ranges from notable wine makers to professional surfers), he was able to bring his footwear project to market.
Appropriately named Bull + Tassel, the brand stands for strength and refinement while also making reference to the private club that inspired the shoes. There are currently only three different styles available on their newly launched online store (with a price tag of $195/pair), but many more variations are planned. Our favorite is the "Glen", shown here:
We've had the opportunity to check out the various samples they have and will be releasing eventually and we couldn't be more excited for what's next. As the line builds, it will range from simple and subtle designs (think classic black or charcoal grey) to a club shoe designed specifically for driving (comes bundled with a pair of leather driving gloves). These are well designed shoes made by good people.
Like any newly launched brand, its lifestyle shots show off just the kind of life these shoes were meant to be a part of. Think beautiful women, classic cars and outrageously nice views. All things we here at Airows might think kindly of. Here are a few of our favorite shots. Enjoy...
