Italian shoe maker Vibram has developed some crazy wrap-around shoes based around an idea developed by Japanese designer Masaya Hashimoto way back in the day.
They feature no laces and instead wrap around the foot and fasten with velcro. For what they lack in style, the design supposedly makes up for it with added comfort, less weight, and an incredible amount of maneuverability.
We're not crazy about these aesthetically, but find the idea to be fascinating. Maybe if they get some designers doing big things for Nike or Adidas on this, something really interesting could happen.
If you'd like to buy a pair in its current state, we admire the bravado and direct you to their official website, where they're available now for $145/each.
