This Waxed Cotton-Nylon Shirt Jacket Should Be in Your Autumn Arsenal

We remember the days when waxed cotton meant one type of jacket, ill-fitting, imported from Britain, and way overpriced. Which is no doubt why Taylor Stitch has made the material one of the key elements of their ongoing overhaul of men's style staples.

For their latest sartorial feat, the S.F.-based apparel artisans have come up with a new blend of 65% organic cotton and 35% nylon in a versatile 5-oz. weight, which is then waterproofed with a dry wax finish.

Quilted and lined with 6-oz. brushed organic cotton the finished product, The Garrison Shirt Jacket, has 80 gram 100% recycled polyfill for true warmth in inclement weather. The end result is "robust, utilitarian, and more than capable of taking a beating from the elements," as they put it.

Available in either classic navy or British khaki, it's finished with sheepskin leather detailing on the backside of the collar, custom YKK antique brass bear snaps, and a plethora of pockets.

Now go forth and show autumn who's boss....
