Flint and Tinder Introduces New Down Jacket Built from NYCO

If you’re in the market for an upgrade to your windbreaker, the down-filled Caliber Jacket from Flint and Tinder is a smart play.

The design is up-to-the-minute while paying subtle homage to mid-20th century military style, with a shell made from NYCO — a unique cotton fabric reinforced with nylon — which was first produced for U.S. Army uniforms. The garment has also a durable water-repellant coating and the fabric was specially finished with an abrasive process that gives it a soft feel to the touch.

The square accordion pocket on the chest and two elongated vertical side pocket flaps give the jacket a sharp-looking, geometric feel. The collar is lined with fleece for added warmth while the sleeves and waist can be tightened closed to keep out the elements. The leather pull zipper closure, meanwhile, is a jaunty finishing touch.
