Sling it on under a Barbour jacket and you're ready for a weekend on a Scottish shooting estate. Pop it over a charcoal cashmere turtleneck however and you're on the list at any Brooklyn nightspot.
The brand had previously rendered this piece, dubbed the Vertical Vest, in utterly contemporary performance fabrics. We much prefer this rendition in a 9-oz. olive plaid wool blend, however.
The wool already ensures this beauty is plenty warm, but the brand added a dose of polyester for durability and a softer, itch-free texture. Then they tacked on a 7-oz. organic cotton flannel lining for extra warmth, and bolstered it with recycled polyester fill for extra insulation.
It retains the classic horizontal quilt construction of a down vest, which accentuates the rich plaid pattern, "resulting in an instantly eye-catching piece that'll keep you cozy all winter long," as Taylor Stitch puts it.
