The apparel artisans at Taylor Stitch find inspiration in all kinds of things, but some of their best work is inspired by their native California. We've seen it with the Truckee Jacket and the Big Sur Hoodie, and now it's helped give birth to what has to be one of the all-time great white cotton and linen button-down shirts.
The cool new California shirt in natural slub linen is more of an off-white, which we vastly prefer. It's an update of one of Taylor Stitch's original, and most coveted, shirting styles, made slightly dressier but still casually elegant of course.
That's mainly thanks to a 'French' front which is a bit more put-together and therefore classy enough to hold its own with a tie and or blazer. The slubby, i.e. textured, linen and cotton blend is another one of T.S. miracles in fabric form: "linen brings its famous strength, breathability, and moisture absorbency to the table," they notes, "while cotton helps to maintain shape and combat creasing."
The end result is the perfect weight combined with perfect tailoring, in a fitted and pre-shrunk silhouette that's guaranteed to go the distance, wherever you are in the world and no matter the occasion.
Just remember you have California to thank for it....
