The Overshirt Gets Elegant With New Option in Italian Corduroy

Here in California, the overshirt is the perfect play for fall and winter. Just throw over a t-shirt and go. Just enough warmth, plenty of easiness. However, most tend to be rather military-inspired with a specific presence that's more rugged than refined. That means if you're looking for something that leans into elegance, options are basically non-existent. Well, until now.

New York-based menswear designer Todd Snyder just reworked the style staple in a luxe corduroy sourced from the legendary Duca Visconti mill in Italy, which gives off a subtle shine and not-to-subtle sophistication. It's designed to be layered, too, with a relaxed fit that drapes perfectly.

The all-black colorway is the instant standout for us. But it's also available in a classic navy blue with an equally cool vibe. For those looking for something a little bolder — not to mention festive — an option in green is also on the table.
