Nobody knows better than the Brits – just because the calendar says it's spring doesn't mean we're out of the woods, weather wise. So bastion of British style Barbour's new collection is a versatile assemblage of lightweight layering pieces and sporting gear that can be called to action should things turn shady.
And given Barbour's 120-plus years of experience outfitting adventurous gentlemen, it's no surprise that many of the items are tailor-made for exploring rugged scenery in a Land Rover Defender with your best girl, dog, and shotgun. Here are some highlights:
The Hoy Waxed Jacket (above) also reeks of the North Sea, so to speak, in a seasonally-appropriate lighter weight with a cotton mesh lining and military-inspired details.
Jackets are of course what Barbour's best at, though they've expanded beyond the traditional wax cotton offerings these days. The Langley Waterproof (above) is super lightweight with Barbour "Dress Tartan" detailing.
What with global warming and all, Barbour is even getting into the shorts game; the City Neuston Shorts are 100% piece-dyed cotton cut in a clean silhouette with Barbour tartan trim on the inner waistband.
The Heritage Liddesdale Quilted Jacket is from Barbour's "core essentials" range of perennially in-demand pieces drawing on its outerwear archive. However these days its cut with a slimmer, more flattering fit. Nice one.
