Upstart footwear brand APL is quietly building a high-performance sneaker business rivaling the likes of Adidas and Nike.
Though they've been mostly focused on performance-based footwear for athletics, they just added a cashmere blend knit sneaker to their "lux" collection, which is designed for everyday wear, not your 6am Equinox date.
“Cashmere blend knitting is a tangible representation of the aesthetic shift in the athletic and lifestyle markets," says APL co-founder Adam Goldston. "More than ever, people want to have a performance aesthetic with comfortable and luxurious materials and our cashmere blend does exactly that."
The sneaker is now available for men and women in black/navy, navy, fatigue, wheat, and grey–each with a price tag of $250. It's hard to think of a much sharper look than pairing these with tailored jeans and a crisp tee shirt.
