Attention men of wealth and taste: the Grid House, a modern architectural masterpiece on 40 lush acres in Sao Paulo, Brazil has been listed for sale by Christie’s International Real Estate for $11.5 million. The architectural firm of Forte, Gimenes & Marcondes Ferraz Arquitetos, which designed the beautiful house, has won numerous awards for it.
“I believe there is a complete symbiosis between the buildings and the surrounding nature,” notes architect Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz. “The wide glass wall, the independence of the spaces and the amazing visual make this project unique.” The house was designed to blend in perfectly with the landscape and luxuriant native forest and “float” above the land.
Composed of “modules”, the eco-friendly wood-framed, concrete and steel-supported Grid House has eight bedrooms in all with 33,615-sq.-ft. of interior space including a main residence “nucleus” with bathroom, social area, kitchen, owner’s apartment, guest room and three other modules connected by suspended wooden with two bedrooms each.
There’s also a four-car garage, a housekeeper’s residence, maid quarters, and more, plus a roof garden and tennis court. It’s situated on 41 acres with two recreational pavilions housing a sauna and Jacuzzi, fireplace, game room and barbecue, designed in the style of the main house, perched on top of a hill. Pretty sweet.
