Hong Kong-based watch brand UNDONE — who is quietly behind some of the most interesting affordable timepieces in the world — has linked up with streetwear design legend Jeff Staple and his brand Staple Pigeon on a noteworthy release.
The bold look features a satin-finished black PVD case sized at 40mm and a dial that warps the Staple Pigeon motif to create a yin/yang design, then warps things further by mixing Arabic numerals and dots across the hour markers.
It's paired with a bezel etched dynamically with “A Positive Social Contagion," which is a signature motto from Staple, as well as "75" and "97," signifying the year of Staple's birth and the foundation of his brand.
On the reverse, meanwhile, a tinted glass caseback with the Staple Pigeon logo centered reveals the Seiko TMI NH35A automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve.
You have a few different options when it comes to purchasing the new release. The UNDONE x STAPLE Yin-Yang Limited Edition is limited to just 300 examples worldwide and arrives with a matching black steel bracelet, a Staple Pigeon-branded NATO strap, and a carabiner key chain. It will set you back $649 USD.
The UNDONE x STAPLE Yin-Yang Leather, meanwhile, arrives with a custom black leather strap with pink stitching, while the UNDONE x STAPLE Yin-Yang NATO arrives with a custom nylon NATO strap with oversized branding that really pops. Both are priced at $519 USD. All of the straps are designed to be interchangeable too, so you can swap them in and out with cool ease.
