Televisions, even a fancy 4k set at 65 inches, are never a jaw-dropping centerpiece. In fact, in most living rooms, the TV hurts more than it helps in the design department. Samsung realized that and enlisted the help of French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to reinvent the television for modern times. Their goal was to make it feel, function, and look like art, not an ugly necessity, and they knocked it out of the park. Here's a video that showcases the new set, dubbed the Samsung Serif, in all of its glory.
It hits select European markets soon and if it's a success, we'll be seeing these worldwide. About time a major electronics company stood up and did something a littler cooler than the norm. Hats off to Samsung.
