Leica cameras will always be at its most iconic in basic black but their new limited edition collab with British designer Paul Smith is our new personal favorite.
The vibrant team up, the second between the two parties, reinterprets the Lecia CL with a design that pays homage to Smith's custom Land Rover Defender, juxtaposing its rather eccentric coloring with precision German engineering.
Limited to 900 examples, each Paul Smith x Leica camera will be individually numbered and feature custom illustrations from Smith on the body, including a standout eye sketch placed above the viewfinder along with "Look and See" engraved above the digital display screen in Smith's signature handwriting.
A matching rope strap with Paul Smith x Leica branding is also part of the kit and each purchase arrives with a specially designed presentation box along with a custom dust cloth featuring a photo print of Smith's vintage cameras.
Sharing the same specs as the standard CL, it's fitted with a versatile Elmarit-TL 18mm f/2.8 ASPH lens, 24-megapixel sensor, fast autofocus, high-resolution electronic EyeRes viewfinder, and the ability to shoot up to 10 frames per second. It can also connect to the Leica FOTOS app, painlessly sending your photos to your phone for easy editing and uploading.
