Opal — the new technology studio founded by former Apple and Beats designers — just revealed “the first professional webcam."
Named the Opal C1, the stunning device, launching in white and black, pairs machined aluminum housing with an anodized finish for unbeatably good style and a strong presence on the desk.
The technology, meanwhile, is also top-of-the-category, combining a high-res 4K sensor from Sony with an ultra-fast f/1.8 aperture and a set of beamforming microphones that expertly isolates your voice with intelligent noise cancellation. "Every ding, drop, and dog bark is filtered out to get an audio experience that clearly speaks for itself," they note. The companion Opal app, made for MAC OS, also gives you the chance to dial in your ideal visual presence, adjusting anything from grain tuning to white balance with machine learning.
Priced at $300 USD, the product is in a "private, invite-only beta" for the moment and requires an invite code to purchase. To get one, add your email right here.
