This Handsome Backpack Design Takes 20 Hours to Paint by Hand

There's a time and a place for a bag clad with a designer name or iconic pattern but we tend to gravitate towards styles like this subtle yet luxurious backpack from Lotuff Leather.

First seen on the runway for the Fall 2019 Todd Snyder show, each bag is applied with a labor-intensive glazing technique where the leather is deglazed, providing an undercoat, painstakingly hand-painted on, and then glazed again, creating a protective layer. That means that paint will never chip away or wear off.

The whole process takes an average of 20-25 hours per bag on top of the time it takes to construct the bag itself, hence the price. If you're feeling it, it's available now in exteremly limited quantities.
