Leica's New Matte Black Q-P Camera Is a Statement of Understatement

After debuting the highly limited Lecia Q Khaki and all of its safari-style last month, the German firm just unleashed a matte black version of the camera for those who prefer stealthier style.

As with the previous release, the iconic front-facing red Leica dot logo is no more, giving it a true blacked-out feel and downplaying the brand. It's admirable and endearing and perfect for the true photographer who sees this as a tool, not a pricey status symbol. A "statement of understatement," their marketing copy reads.

Clad with a fixed Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH lens that can adapt to any available light and finished with a brown leather strap that contrasts beautifully against the flat paint finish, this is one of the prettiest and most capable cameras money can buy. Leica stores and select retailers should get these in stock shortly, so look alive if you want in on the first drop.
