Sony will be releasing the PlayStation 5 on Nov. 12 but unlike previous console launches, you won't need to camp outside a retail store for a chance to score. In fact, all PlayStation 5 orders will be online only.
All the usual suspects (Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy) will have the next-gen console up for grabs with timing and availability varying widely. Your best bet is to make sure you have an updated account and payment details on all platforms while staying near a computer for most of the day.
Only one retailer, Walmart, has made details public on release specifics. Stock will be arriving in waves on Walmart.com — 9 am PST, 12 pm PST, 3 pm PST, 6 pm PST — with limited examples available at each interval. And if you don't get lucky or simply want to avoid the hassle of fighting off bots and other eager customers, you can always secure a console via eBay at a slight premium.
