Swiss watch brand Breitling and Australian motorcycle magicians Deus Ex Machina have teamed up on a cool new chronograph inspired by Deus' bespoke creations: the Breitling Top Time Deus. The retro-look timepiece is designed for anyone who loves the adventurous life and the open road.

The Top Time is a homage to Breitling’s original 1960s editions of the same name, a range of “ultra-modern” chronographs originally designed to suit the needs of “young and active professionals." The new version features a 41-millimeter stainless-steel case and a silver-and-black dial with orange and yellow highlights, plus a lightning bolt chronograph hand.

The rally-style perforated calfskin strap has a bright yellow backing, while the dial is enhanced by vintage-feel "squircle" shaped chronograph counters, the Deus logo and the Aussie brand's moto “In benzin veritas"—or "In Petrol We Trust." It's powered by the Breitling Caliber 23 COSC-certified chronometer with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

The caseback is engraved with Deus's signature symbol of a retro-looking motorcyclist in full flight, designed, by Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell. Only 1,500 examples are being produced, and each comes with a limited-edition Deus coffee table book and custom canvas tote bag.

As part of the new partnership, Breitling is now also the official timekeeper of the Deus Swank Rally, an "epic motorcycle championship celebrating vintage bikes in diverse locations around the world." They have also anointed Breitling’s new Deus Squad, which includes Californinian custom surfboard maker Forrest Minchinton, Hawaiian competitive surfer Sierra Lerback, and French motorcycle engineer and designer Jeremy Tagand.

“It’s all about a life well ridden," as Minchinton says, "and if you can stop time while keeping time, so much the better."
