Five Well-Designed Wallets to Elevate Your EDC

Men have been carrying some type of wallet since the ancient Greeks first hung leather pouches full of coins from their belts. Needless to say, we've evolved since then, though not yet to the entirely cashless society some predicted would be the death of such things.

As one of the few accessories men display in public, it's worth investing in a proper wallet that you will have for years and that helps make you a better-dressed fellow in general. Here are five of the best:

Thom Browne Striped Wallet, $480

The Italian pebble-grained leather already makes this a winner, but Browne's signature ribbon stripes put this piece into the all-star league.

SALE: J. Stark Randall Wallet, $42

Handmade with hide from an old-school tannery, this well-priced wallet is built like a heritage leather boot and will age just as gracefully.

Santiago Gonzalez Crocodile Card Case, $295

Slimming down to a card case is a great idea if you don't mind pocketing a money clip as well, and this version in army green crocodile skin is aces.

Paul Smith Artist Stripe Billfold, $225

A couple months back we drooled over British designer Paul Smith's custom Porsche 911, and this natty billfold features the same signature stripe.

Shinola Five-Pocket Leather Card Case, $125

Detroit-based Shinolahas long led the field in heirloom-quality American leathergoods, and this stylish card case certainly qualifies.
