Swiss watch customizer Artisans de Geneve is back with another bespoke beauty, this time transforming a modern Rolex Daytona with an authentic oxidized patina "tropical" dial without the decades-long wait.
"To give our client the allure he wanted, we developed a natural maturation technique which allowed us to control day by day the aging of his dial without damaging it," the bespoke watch group notes. "After being applied with a treatment, we agreed that his dial shall be sent to the Azores — an island with one of the highest rates of humidity in the world. It was carefully preserved and monitored in a secret location to mature. After 10 weeks, our client decided that his dial had reached the perfect patina."
As for the power, the statement watch draws power from a custom 4130 caliber movement featuring rose gold gear trains and a 21K gold rotor for added style points. Of course, it's all on display thanks to the added sapphire caseback.
The retro-tinged beauty is completed with a brown leather handmade strap for the perfect finishing touch. More info here.
