Apple Announces AirTag Device for Item Tracking
Apple has officially revealed the AirTag, a Tile-like item tracker that connects to physical objects like your wallet or keys and puts them on display via the “Find My” app on iOS. And though Tile has been in this business for years now, Apple is sure to make the experience easy and frictionless with how deeply it can integrate the product and service within iOS.
AirTag devices can be placed anywhere (bag, pocket, etc.) and also link up with a range of Apple-designed AirTag accessories. And though an overflow of designer and third-party AirTag accessories are sure to drop soon enough, Apple is kicking things off with an exclusive Apple x Hermès collection featuring handcrafted leather accessories like a bag charm and luggage tag. Each will be finished with a custom-engraved logo featuring a take on the iconic Clou de Selle signature, too.
The AirTag will be available individually ($29 USD) or as a pack of four ($99 USD) beginning April 30. For those hoping to pre-order, that will begin at 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, April 23.
