Tales of The Macallan Volume I is the latest ltd. edition launch from the famed Speyside staple, distilled in 1950 and limited to only 350 bottles worldwide.
The iteration is dedicated to John Grant, who oversaw the building of the Easter Elchies manor house on The Macallan estate in 1700, and arrives in a gorgeous luxury decanter designed by French crystal glass house Lalique. It also arrives concealed within an extraordinary 800-page almanac built by Shepherds Bookbinders, which feels like it was pulled from James Bond's personal library.
Available through The Macallan’s global boutiques and select retailers, it surely won't be easy to get your hands on a bottle. But if you're able to, expect a nose of antique oak and vanilla, a palate of peach, apple, wood spice, and ginger, and a finish that combines elements of citrus and sweet oak.
