Upscale tequila brand Patrón has partnered with writer/director Guillermo del Toro on a cool new limited edition tequila that's going to look pretty great on your home bar. The $399 Patrón x Guillermo del Toro features designs inspired by the agave plant, the jimadores who harvest it and Mexico's Day of the Dead.
It's a blend of rare Patrón tequilas aged for an average of more than five years in a combination of new and used oak barrels, accompanied by a 100ml bottle of aged orange liqueur in the shape of a skull.
The smaller vessel is the first-of-its-kind aged Patrón orange liqueur produced from aged Patrón tequila. The spirit in the main bottle is characterized by a bright, golden color, with an aroma and flavor of light honey, nuts and raisins, slight vanilla, and oak, with a long finish of agave and oak courtesy of the barrels. Bottoms up.
