In 1806, Englishman James Gosling set up a rum business on the island of Bermuda, forever changing the history of fine spirits. For over seven generations the Gosling family has now been offering various versions of Goslings Black Seal Rum, a true icon. And this season sees one of their most exclusive products ever to hit the market, Papa Seal Single Barrel Bermuda Rum.

The ultra-rare spirit has been aged for over 15 years in hand-selected bourbon barrels. Only about 2,590 bottles culled from 12 precious barrels of the exquisite rum will be available for $199 apiece in the U.S. Papa Seal Single Barrel Bermuda Rum is pot and column distilled from molasses, blended, and then aged in once-used bourbon barrels with a medium char.

Each barrel shows a slight flavor variation, with notes of spice, leather, banana, caramel, molasses being more or less prevalent. And each of the limited edition bottles features the barrel number, bottle number, and bottling date hand-written on its label.
