The New 28-Year-Old 'Whoop & Holler' Whisky is Worth Celebrating

The Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is about to make fall a lot more exciting thanks to Whoop & Holler American Whisky, an elixir aged for 28 years making it one of the oldest whiskies available anywhere.

Priced at $175 per bottle, the Whoop & Holler is bottled at 84 proof and was distilled and hand-bottled at the historic George Dickel Distillery in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Made using cascade spring water that runs through ancient limestone, the whisky is first chilled and then charcoal mellowed with Tennessee sugar maple charcoal that is burned on-site.

Tasting notes are described as spicy peppercorn, clove, and a whisper of dark chocolate and peanut shell, leading to a long and dry finish. And another. And another....
