After the success of Logan and its Western movie influence, Fox continues to expand the X-Men universe with genre films that take a different approach to superheroes.
Next year, they'll be releasing The New Mutants, which is based on the popular comic book team of juvenile crimefighters. Instead of matching blue and yellow costumes and funny quips, though, writer-director Josh Boone crafted a haunted house movie that feels more like Batman's Arkham Asylum than Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
With a cast led by familiar faces like Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), this will either be very good or very bad. Judging by the first trailer, we're leaning towards the latter.
