New 'Shazam!' Trailer Is a Breathe of Fresh Air

Ditching the doom and gloom for laughs and lightning, Shazam! looks like the perfect antidote to Batman V Superman and Man of Steel.

From director David F. Sandberg, the movie centers on Billy Batson (Asher Angel), a teenager who transforms into an adult superhero (Zachary Levi). Levi, most famous for his lead role in Chuck, is charmingly a lifelong comic book fan. “This is complete wish fulfillment. This is 14-year-old me that got to put on a cape and fly,” says Levi. “This whole movie is about wish fulfillment.”

Check out the new trailer above – which has a soft cameo from Batman – and get ready for it to hit theatres in April.
