Mint Copy of 'Super Mario 64' Sells for $1.56mm USD

The sealed vintage video game market continues to heat up. Following an original copy of The Legend of Zelda graded WATA 9.0 going for $870,000 USD, a sealed copy of Super Mario 64 graded WATA 9.8 went for a massive $1,560,000 USD at the same Heritage Auctions sale. It's now the most expensive video game in the world.

The cultural significance of this title and its importance to the history of video games is paramount, and the condition of this copy is just so breathtaking that we’re really at a loss here. Personally, we're holding out for a clean copy of GoldenEye 64....
