Renowned director Christopher Nolan of The Dark Knight and Dunkirk fame is currently filming his next movie and details are starting to leak out.
The movie will be titled Tenet and will be shot on location across seven countries. We don't know much about the story but we do know it's focused on international espionage and intended to be an epic action movie. It's based on an original screenplay by Nolan.
The son of Denzel Washington, John David Washington, is set to play the lead. He first appeared in HBO's Ballers alongside Dwayne Johnson but it was his star performance in Spike Lee's Oscar-nominated BlacKkKlansman that seemingly caught the attention of every director in Hollywood, including Nolan.
The stacked supporting cast includes Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, and, as always, Michael Caine.
Dutch-Swedish cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, who Nolan worked with on Interstellar and Dunkirk and also shot Spectre, is serving as Director of Photography. The movie will be shot on a mix of IMAX and 70mm film.
The score is being composed by Ludwig Göransson, who recently won an Oscar for his work on Black Panther. Nolan famously works with Hans Zimmer on every project, so this is an interesting and exciting departure that might be a creative choice or might simply be a scheduling conflict. Zimmer is currently working on both Wonder Woman 1984 and Dune.
Tenet is set to debut sometime in 2020 with inside sources stating "this is the Bond movie they wouldn't let him make." Stay tuned here for more information as it drops.
