Dune — one of the greatest science fiction and adventure stories of all time — has an anticipated movie releasing next year, which comes from visionary director Denis Villeneuve and stars Timothée Chalamet. And if you've already read the novel and perhaps its sequels, continue to get your fix with DUNE: HOUSE ATREIDES.

The comic series is set in the years leading up to the original novel from Frank Herbert and will span over eight issues. It's written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, who co-wrote the eponymous prequel novel, and illustrated by artist Dev Pramanik and colorist Alex Guimarães. Here's the official description:

"DUNE: HOUSE ATREIDES transports readers to the far future on the desert planet Arrakis where Pardot Kynes seeks its ecological secrets in remote, desolate regions of the alien world. Meanwhile, a violent coup is planned by Shaddam Corrino, the son of Emperor Elrood; far away, an eight-year-old slave Duncan Idaho (played by Jason Momoa in the film) seeks to escape his cruel masters; and a young man named Leto Atreides (played by Oscar Isaac in the film) begins a fateful journey. These unlikely souls are drawn together first as renegades and then as something more, as they discover their true fate – to change the very shape of history!"

Issue #1 is due out tomorrow, Oct. 21, and can be purchased digitally right here. Physical copies will also be available at your local comic book store.
