And though it's hard to imagine anything recreating its magic completely, Titanfall creator Respawn is diving into the 'battle royale' format with Apex Legends, a new take on the last man standing shooter.

Available now on PS4, Xbox and PC, the free-to-play game has racked up 1mm players within mere hours with rave reviews flowing in from dedicated gamers and critics alike. Next time you and your squad take a couple bad Ls, fire this up and give it a try. At worse, it's a nice change of pace. At best, it's your next addiction.
