It's a movie stretch almost every single of our readers watched and loved and some of the best super-heroic treatment ever captured on film.  Here's a few things you (probably) didn't know about the Dark Knight trilogy.

'Batman Begins'

Christian Bale found the Batman suit so uncomfortable, he was almost always in a terrible mood when filming while wearing it.

A drunk driver ran into the Batmobile while filming in Chicago. He told the cops he thought it was an alien spaceship.

The reason the most recent 007 films are so dark was because James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccolli were huge fans of Batman Begins

Based off Bruce Wayne's wealth in the movie, Forbes estimated his net worth to be around $6.8 billion.

Christian Bale is a method actor and only used an American accent on and off set during the time of filming Batman Begins. His natural accent is Welsh.

These are the other actors who were in consideration for Bruce Wayne/Batman before Christian Bale got the role: Joshua Jackson, Eion Bailey, Hugh Dancy, Billy Crudup, Cillian Murphy, Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Director Chris Nolan liked Cillian Murphy's audition so much that he put him in the movie as the villain Scarecrow.

Writer David Goyer originally wanted Jake Gyllenhaal to play Batman before he saw Christian Bale's audition.

Marilyn Manson was considered for the role of The Scarecrow.

The studio executives at WB wanted Ashton Kutcher as Bruce Wayne. Director Chris Nolan wasn't interested at all.

The movie was originally going to be titled Batman: The Frightening

Anthony Hopkins was offered the part of Alfred Pennyworth but declined.

'The Dark Knight'

The Joker's aesthetic was based off of punk rocker Sid Vicious.

Health Ledger lived in a crappy hotel for six weeks leading up to filming to get in the mindset of The Joker.

Health Ledger designed The Joker makeup himself.

Bruce Wayne drives a Lamborghini Murcielago in this flick. "Murcielago" means "bat" in Spanish.

In the original draft of the script, the Rachel Dawes character was part of the Grayson family. Robin's name in the comic books is Dick Grayson.

Paul Bettany, Lachy Hulme, Adrien Brody, Steve Carell, and Robin Williams all expressed interest in playing The Joker.

Chris Nolan originally wanted Sean Penn to play The Joker but Penn didn't want to step on the toes of long time friend Jack Nicholson. Nolan only ever considered Health Ledger after that.

Matt Damon was originally offered the role of Two-Face/Harvey Dent. Ryan Phillippe and Hugh Jackman were also considered before the role eventually went to Aaron Eckhart.

'The Dark Knight Rises'

The main villain in each movie (Ra's Al Guhl, Joker, Bane) disguises himself as a henchman in each film.

If Heath Ledger had not tragically passed away, this movie was going to be about The Joker standing trial and Two-Face going on a rampage through Gotham.

Tom Hardy, who played Bane, is only 5'9". He had to wear three inch lifts throughout the entire movie.

Chris Nolan wanted Marion Cotillard in the film so bad as Miranda Tate, that he modified the entire filming schedule to work around her pregnancy.

Anne Hathaway originally thought she was auditioning for Harley Quinn.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling and Mark Ruffalo were considered by Chris Nolan to play John Blake before the role eventually went to Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Natalie Portman was considered for Catwoman.
