1.) Because of balding, Sean Connery wore a hairpiece in every single James Bond movie.
2.) Hugh Jackman, Cary Grant, Liam Neeson, Gerard Butler, Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds have all turned down the role of James Bond.
3.) Clint Eastoowd and Burt Reynolds turned it down because they hated the idea of a James Bond who wasn't British.
4.) Liam Neeson turned down the role in the mid 90's before Goldeneye was shot because he didn't want to do action films. Ironically, he's probably the biggest action star on the planet right now.
5.) Gerard Butler turned down the role because he thought he would become typecast as 007 and it would ruin his career.
6.) "Goldeneye" was the name of a house in Jamaica that Ian Fleming wrote the original James Bond novels.
7.) Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys was originally supposed to be a 007 theme song.
8.) In the books, the original gun of choice for James Bond was the Beretta 418. A reader wrote in and explained that it was a "lady's gun" and it was later changed to the Walther PPK.
9.) When Die Another Day was in pre-production, the producers wanted to include a cameo by Sean Connery and explain that the name "James Bond" is just a codename (like "M") and that all of these portrayals (Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, etc) exist in the same universe and timeline. It was eventually scrapped.
10.) President John F. Kennedy was a huge 007 fan.
11.) From Russia With Love was JFK's favorite Bond book and it was also the last movie he saw before he died.
12.) Roughly 2/3 of the women James Bond has slept with on screen have tried to kill him.
13.) His drink of choice is actually a scotch and soda in Ian Fleming's original books, not a straight vodka shaken over ice and served in a martini glass with olives.
14.) If you factor in inflation, Thunderball is the most financially successful James Bond film in history.
15.) James Bond is fluent in English, Italian, German, French and Russian.
16.) He know enough of Greek, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese to get around in areas where that is the primary language.
17.) 008 replaces James Bond if he ever dies.
18.) Agents 002, 003, 004, 006 and 009 have all died on screen.
19.) 001 and 005 have never been mentioned.
20.) Way back in the day, CBS aired a made-for-TV movie based off of the Casino Royale book, but James Bond was an American CIA agent.
21.) James Bond was born in Germany, not England.
22.) David Bowie was supposed to be the villain in A View to a Kill.
23.) George Lazenby was the youngest Bond on screen during the shooting of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. He was only 30.
24.) The Bond girl is almost always younger than James. The only exceptions have been Honor Blackman (37) and Sean Connery (34) in Goldfinger, and Diana Rigg (31) and George Lazenby (30) in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
