Rolling Stone is diving into the world of NFTs in a big way, partnering with Bored Ape Yacht Club on a pair of reimagined digital magazine covers. One will feature a standard ape on display like a cultural icon, the other showcasing its "mutant" variant—complete with subtle animation. The collection will be padded out by five other NFT pieces commissioned by various artists, which are yet to be revealed.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Bored Ape Yacht Club,” says Gus Wenner, President and COO of Rolling Stone. “The cultural groundswell associated with these artists is in line with movements Rolling Stone has covered for decades. The Bored Apes’ shared love of music and counter-culture made them fantastic collaborators to bring this unique project to life with.”
Set to debut on Nov. 8, buying and blockchain details are TBA.
