There has always been the idea floating around that the more symmetrical your face is, the more attractive you are. Artist Alex John Beck went out to see if that was actually the case, by mirroring sides of the face perfectly. Below, one side mirrors the left side of the face and the other side other mirrors the right hand side. Unfortunately, he didn't want to show you the original, as he claims it would be nothing more than a boring portrait.
There was another photographer, Julian Wolkenstein, who did the same exercise but did indeed showoff the original portrait. From left to right: real portrait, left side symmetrical, right side symmetrical.
Want do you think? If symmetrical faces really are more attractive, it seems like eyebrows are the game-changer. They're the things that vary the most from side to side. Does that mean everyone should go out and get there eyebrows waxed and treated? Absolutely not---but it is an interesting thought to consider.
