Jazz legend Miles Davis became a lifelong Ferrari fan as soon as he could afford one. And one of the coolest prancing horses he owned – which makes it one of the coolest, period – is now being sold on eBay. Classic car dealer Beverly Hills Car Club (BHCC) is offering the bright yellow ride to savvy bidders with part of the proceeds going to a music charity.
With a current high bid of $75,000 as of this writing, the 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSI which Davis bought new has only has 9,589 original miles on it. It features dark brown leather upholstery, a five-speed manual transmission, Nardi steering wheel, and more.
It also comes with proof of Davis' ownership, and a percentage of the proceeds to The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles; Davis won 8 Grammys overall and was nominated 32 times.
“Miles Davis had such exquisite taste,” says BHCC owner Alex Manos. “It’s a unique and exciting experience to be able to offer something to the public from the Davis estate. It will be exciting to know who the next person to own and drive it will be.”
The auction ends Friday afternoon so look sharp....
