This year marks Mercedes-Benz's 130th anniversary, and to kick off in style they're unveiling an exclusive limited edition convertible at the Detroit Auto Show. The Mercedes-AMG S63 4MATIC Cabriolet "Edition 130" is designed in homage to the legendary Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows race cars, which dominated the competition in the 1930s and again in the '50s.
For starters the car features a special, high-gloss "Alubeam silver" paint finish, a custom red fabric top and 5-twin-spoke 20-inch forged alloy wheels, typically exclusive to Benz's V12 S-Class models.
Inside you'll find designo Exclusive Nappa Leather upholstery in Bengal red/black as well as trim elements in AMG carbon fiber/piano lacquer black bespeaking the amazing power on tap.
Under the hood there's a handbuilt AMG5.5 liter V8-biturbo engine with 577 hp output and 664 lb-ft maximum torque, with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
It will be available in late spring at an as-yet undisclosed price, but might we suggest $130,000 as a suitable number given the occasion...?
