The Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO Is a Bat Out of Hell in the Best Way

Mercedes-Benz has just announced pricing for the new Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO, the ultimate expression of its top-of-the-line sports car, meaning you can now actually place an order. But you'll want to move fast as Benz is only building 750 of them starting at $199,650 apiece.

Which means you can expect to pay over $200K if you're lucky enough to make the list, but as this is for sure a future collectible, as well as one hell of a badass ride, it'll be money well spent. Almost too hot to handle on the road, the GT R PRO has supercharged driving dynamics that make it perfectly at home on the track.

"Drawing on experience gained from the triumphant motorsport successes" of its AMG GT3 and GT4 race cars, the lightweight carbon fiber elements of the GT R PRO make it alarmingly fast on any paved surface.  As proven by Mercedes racing driver Maro Engel who completed a circuit of the famed Nürburgring North Loop in exactly 7.04.632 minutes, besting its predecessor, the AMG GT R and making it the undisputed head of the family.

The GT R PRO also incorporates key updates to the AMG GT lineup for the 2020 model year. These include a new dynamic side skirt, a new diffuser insert in the rear bumper, a new double-round tailpipe design and new LED High Performance headlights which give it an especially mean look in combination with the signature AMG front grille.

Inside the car is a new AMG performance steering wheel, a new 12.3" digital instrument cluster and larger 10.25" multimedia display with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, while a new touchpad option also offers a new way to interact with the multimedia interface. And the GT R PRO can even display track information when you do decide to rip it up.

If you're one of the very lucky 750, that is....
