Porsche just unveiled the 2017 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S slated to make their debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, and the headline news is that the base price on the Cabriolet version of the Turbo S now tops out at $200,000 and change. That's almost $50K more than a stock 911 Turbo coupe.
Of course there's some justification for the sticker shock – the 3.8 liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine powering the 911 Turbo S now kicks out 580 hp, and it can do 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top track speed of 205 mph. And long with some styling upgrades derived from the ridiculously cool 918 Spyder, Porsche is betting that will translate to a full order book. We call shotgun.
