Here's a Closer Look at the Season's Coolest Car Book

A few months back we told you about A Man and His Car, style arbiter Matt Hranek's new book celebrating the bond between men of taste and their beloved rides. Now here's a closer look at some of our favorite machines from the beautifully-designed volume published by Artisan Books, now available right here.

Each section features Hranek's photos of a vehicle that means the world to a fellow man of taste and style, alongside quotes from the owner regarding the sacred machine. The gorgeous 1972 Land Rover Series III above is owned by Matt Leonard, Cofounder and President of Game 7 Marketing and Olé Creative.

The beautiful brown 1987 Porsche Carrera Targa above is one of Hranek's own rides (brown being a sort of leitmotif for the author, editor, photographer, mixologist, and man of the world). Aside from being a killer set of wheels, it has played an important role in Hranek's life (see the book for more details).

The 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato above belongs to another man of impeccable taste, Hodinkee founder Ben Clymer. While he has owned several classics, the unrestored Giulietta Sprint Zagato is his "prized possession" among them. "It looks like an angry little jelly bean, but it’s a tiny rocket," as he puts it.

The original owner of the wicked fast 1956 Jaguar XKSS above was none other than the King of Cool himself, Steve McQueen, making it one of the most iconic sports cars in the world. Now owned by the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, McQueen affectionately dubbed it the "Green Rat."

This is obviously only a fragment of the automotive brilliance to be found in Hranek's book, so be sure to snag a copy post haste and be prepared for hours of sheer enjoyment.
