Land Rover Launches Luxury Off-Road Adventure Series in Utah and Africa

Discovery time.

If you've been waiting for the opportune moment to test out the cool new Land Rover Discovery, your prayers have just been answered big time. The storied British marque just launched two adventure travel experiences in Namibia and Utah with the versatile new SUV showing all it's capable of. The eight-day Land Rover Namibia Adventure is for those who want to soak up Africa’s finest scenery and wildlife, while the Utah Adventure offers five days of extremely challenging driving amid some equally impressive landscapes.

In Africa, aside from some glorious cruising in the Discovery, guests can photograph epic sand dunes, spot the "Big Five" – lion, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo, and rhinoceros – in Okonjima Nature Reserve and Etosha National Park and travel to where the Namib desert meets the South Atlantic Ocean. Starting on May 1, 2018 it costs $6,943 per person based on double occupancy and includes all Land Rover driving activities, accommodation, meals and airport transfers.

For those wanting even more of an off-road challenge, the five-day Utah Adventure starts around the southwestern city of Moab, where the SUV can really prove its mettle. Red rock formations and dramatic scenery of Arches National Park and the Canyonlands provide the backdrop for a very spirited drive. Guests will tackle the famed Seven Mile Rim, Poison Spider Mesa and the Hells Revenge Trails where lesser vehicles have been known to give up the ghost.

Accommodations will be provided at the stunning Red Cliffs Lodge, which is also home to the renowned Castle Creek Winery which comes in handy after the day's driving is done. The Utah Adventure starts on October 21, 2017 and costs $5,250 per person, based on double occupancy, including all Land Rover driving activities, accommodation, meals and airport transfers.

“Adventure plays a key part in what makes for an exhilarating drive – whether it be an iconic road trip or on the road-less-travelled," notes Mark Cameron, Jaguar Land Rover's Global Experiential Marketing Director. "To do this from behind the wheel of the new Discovery makes it unique.... Our customers will get the chance to push the vehicle to its limits and enjoy unforgettable surroundings.” Sounds good to us.
