The Jaguar F-TYPE Gets a Base Model Upgrade

British carmaker Jaguar is streamlining its F-TYPE lineup to include only V8 engines, kicking things off with the F-TYPE P450.

The new 2022 base model ditches the turbocharged four-cylinder and supercharged V6 options in favor of a 444 hp supercharged V8 good for a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph. It also maintains the recent aesthetic upgrades from the 2021 model year revamp, most notably the new front end with slimmed-down LED headlights.

The downside of the upgrade is the entry point for the Steve McQueen-approved sports car is a bit more expensive: $8,300 USD to be exact. But considering its positioning in the market and the substantial boost in speed and style, we don't see many complaining.

Pre-orders are live now, starting at $71,050 USD. They're due to arrive at dealerships next month.
