Ford has just revealed the Bronco Riptide, an eye-popping custom concept car that loses the top but adds tubular doors, 35-inch mud-terrain tires, and a surfboard rack. The result is undeniably cool, though we'd probably opt for something other than “Velocity Blue” paint.
It's based on the "Sasquatch Package" the American motoring company offers, which offers a few different driving modes and features a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine paired to a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. And though it is just a concept as of now, it's not far-fetched to imagine Ford taking something like this to market.
“For this Bronco Riptide project, we imagined a customer who enjoys the open air and a free-spirited West Coast lifestyle,” said Missy Coolsaet, Bronco color and materials designer. “We wanted the vehicle to demonstrate how Bronco customers can personalize their vehicle, letting different types of customers visualize what they might want to do with their future Bronco.”
