London is back and raring to go judging by the incredible selection of classic cars up for auction at Bonhams' Bond Street Sale on 19 May in the UK capital. While most of the best picks are British—including no fewer than 11 Aston Martins dating from 1930 to 1986—there are of course some Italian beauties on offer as well.
Here are our highlights:
1968 Aston Martin DB6 Volante
Estimated at up to £500,000, this convertible variant of the sports car dubbed the ultimate "gentleman’s express" is one of just 40 Mark 1 DB6 Volantes produced, in a rare triple-black color scheme.
1927 Bentley 3 /4 ½-Litre
One of the oldest and most beautiful cars in the sale, estimated at up to £340,000, is this 1927 Bentley 3/4½-litre Speed Model Sports, formerly owned by a true gentleman racer and one of the founders of the Bentley Driver’s Club. The car has an impressive racing history to boot.
1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Semi-Lightweight FIA Competition Roadster
Estimated at up to £200,000 and recently restored by a marque specialist, this roadster is finished in the famous blue and white racing livery in homage to American entrepreneur, yachtsman, and racing champion Briggs Cunningham.
1969 De Tomaso Mangusta Coupé
One of just 50 "single-headlight" variants of the Ghia-designed, v8-powered Mangusta, estimated at up to £250,000, this Italian stallion features the famed gullwing engine covers and underwent a seven-year restoration to concours condition.
1962 Lancia Flamina Sport 3C
Estimated at up to £340,000, with coachwork by the famed house of Zagato, this Lancia is a rare bird indeed with its famed "double bubble" roof, and has won several concours prizes since a total restoration was completed in 2019.
