Bentley Motors and Princess Yachts, builder of oceangoing luxury vessels, have announced a cool new car resulting from a collaboration between the two iconic British brands: The Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition. Bentley’s bespoke commissioning division, Mulliner, created the vehicle which pays homage to some of PY's most desirable superyachts.
The classic yacht color Glacier White was chosen for the exterior with Sequin Blue highlights for a nautical touch evoking the "iridescent sparkle of crystal clear waters." A dark blue hood and striking 21” polished Propeller Wheels complete Mulliner’s external signature on the Galene Edition.
The car is powered by Bentley’s refined 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, good for 500 hp and 660 Nm of torque. It features Bentley’s patented four-layered retractable hood which has the best amenities of a hardtop when in place and when retracted offers the ultimate in open-topped motoring.
The interior of the Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition is equipped with sumptuous leather upholstery in shades of cream and white: Linen and Portland for the seats, with camel-colored contrast hand stitching, door panels in Linen, Portland and Brunel, and Linen, Brunel and Camel for the dashboard, center console and armrests, while the steering wheel is Linen and Brunel with a Camel 12 o’clock stripe.
Finally, the detailed headrest embroidery is in Camel. The stowage case and fascia panels, which can be specified with a unique hand painted Jaume Vilardell illustration of a superyacht alongside the Mulliner script in each car, also come in Glacier White. An all new material finish, Pinstripe Walnut, also graces the Galene's interior.
It's used for the center stack and console, as well as the bespoke illuminated tread plates, and in an extra-luxe touch, it also lines the floor of the boot, for a feel like the deck of a handbuilt yacht. Mulliner will only create 30 examples of the stunning ride for collectors worldwide, so you'd better get a good luck now.
