If you're trying to get extreme with your off-roarding and spend more time shopping at REI than you do the grocery store, chances are, this ride isn't for you. But you already knew that. The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is a status symbol, just like it's always been. It's big, mean, luxurious, comfortable, and flat out cool. The best part, though? It's currently living in a world where it's out out of the MTV zeitgeist, so the Escalade brand and the car itself is less about champagne-ing and campaigning and more about American-made class.
The 2015 model is largely the car that came before it, with a few subtle changes that go a long ways. Just like the boost from iPhone 5 to iPhone 5s, the latest Escalade model isn't a drastic reinvention, just fine tuning what has been working for years. They changed up the classic wreath for a modernized shield we'll see later this year, revamped some of the interior with high end cut and sewn leathers on the dash, door panels and seats, and overall, modernized the whole control area to look more like the CTS or ATS with a beautiful 8 inch screen. It's roomy, first class, good looking, and flat out nice to sit in.
Under the hood, it packs a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, which produces 420 horsepower and 460-lb-ft of torque like it's nothing. From a driving perspective, this SUV competes with the best of 'em, and the sound the exhaust makes is just killer.
If you're looking for an American made SUV, this bad boy should be at the top of your list. Prices start at $71,695. More beautiful photos to follow...
