Car Porn: 1980 BMW M1 Procar

Leading automotive auction house RM Sotheby's is staging an online-only sale dubbed SHIFT/Monterey, taking place on Aug. 14–15. And one of the highlights is this very special 1980 BMW M1 Procar, estimated to sell for between $600,000–$800,000.

A racecar of a different stripe, BMW introduced the M1 at the 1978 Paris Motor Show, and this is one of only 54 versions built. With an impressive competition history, it's eligible for events like the Le Mans Classic.
