IWC's Restored Silver Spitfire Aircraft Has Style to Spare

We see your restored classic car and raise you this restored 1943 Supermarine Spitfire aircraft courtesy IWC and the Boultbee Flight Academy.

The extensive restoration project took over two years to complete and included everything from inspection and cleaning of more than 20,000 rivets to fully overhauling the 1,700 hp Rolls-Royce Merlin 70 engine. They also kitted it with a number of modern safety features, like backup systems and fail-safe radios.

To celebrate the finished project, Boultbee Flight Academy co-owners and pilots Matt Jones and Steve Boultbee-Brooks will be taking it on the first round-the-world flight for a Spitfire aircraft this August. A unique adventure and a stylish marketing stunt for the luxury watch brand, keep a lookout for it its polished aluminum and elliptical wings in your area soon.
